Does CheckPoints Really Work?

In short, yes, Checkpoints really works.

The below is a screenshot of the email received after redeeming points for a $25 Amazon gift card. Actually, we were able to check into places, scan items, and earn coins to play the Scratcher and Slots game by testing out Apps using the sister BonusCoins app. Now that we can earn points by watching videos and completed Tapjoy offers it's even easier!

Scratcher or Slots?

So, you've got a golden coin (yay!) and have the option of two games to play. The lottery style scratch off game or the slots game. Which is best though? We conducted a little test to find out.

First, we bought a pack of 50 coins (one of the new rewards options) and used half of it to play each game. The results:

Scratch off: 6x10pts + 4x50pts = 310pts.  This is a net income from the 250 spent on 25 coins.
Slots: 3x10 + 1x50 = 80pts. Big loss

Given these are games of chance, although we can assume they're rigged a little and hitting the 150,000 point payoff won't happen very often. The results of our test showed that the scratch off game had a much bigger payoff than the slots game. Overall we still lost since we only won 390pts after paying 500 for the coins, but perhaps if we'd stuck with the scratch off the entire time we would have come out ahead.

The "Best" Bonus Code For Checkpoints

A number of people spend a lot of time searching for the best bonus code - that which will reward the user with the most points. It's as if they expect there to be a new code for 2013, or some secret to game the system. You'll find codes that the posters claim reward you with 10,000, even 15,000, points - don't do it. Truth be told you'll get some bonus out of it, the same 300 100 you'll find with any code out there. But why reward those that are lying and trying to game the system? (The bonus was 300 until recently when it was lowered to 100 and then lowered again to 50).

YouTube videos also abound with claims of codes worth up to $500. Yet, when the users show their screen they maybe have a few hundred points, not the tens of thousands they claim. Take a second and think about it. Would Checkpoints really spend hundreds of dollars just to get one new user? Of course not. .
